Would you swap Payet for any other Premier League player?
I wouldn't.

The geezer is a Rolls Royce, Bentley, and a Lear Jet rolled up into one phenomenal bundle. The way he glides across the pitch is majestic. Head always up, ball glued to his foot, he seems to put opposition players in a trance before either leaving them for dead, laying off an killer pass, or unleashing a devastating shot.

Look at that cross for Valencia last night. Most players would have just fired it into a dangerous area, he picked out a pinpoint pass through a crowd.

I think he's the best player in the league this year, and wouldn't swap him for anyone.

What about you?

On form this year not by choice. Players in that position rarely show such consistency of impact.

If arm twisted then maybe for Ozil (who's stats show would be a worthy swap, and is younger) but agree he's pretty much top of the league.

Would love to see us setup as:

Adrian

New Rb - Reid - Ogbonna - Cresswell

Lanzini - Kouyate/Obiang

Antonio - Payet - Valencia

Sakho/New Striker

That's with no disrespect to Collins or Tomkins (who on form slot in at RB and CB).

Wouldn't surprise me if he won one of the footballer of the season awards. He's the sort of player that other players would pay to watch.

Best player in the league.

Possibly Hazard or Ozil, Aguero? I think he's probably better than Silva. I'm a fan of Sturridge too.

Fwiw, if Bale was still in the PL he would comfortably be the best player in the league.

At this moment no.

He is absolutely world class.

You'd struggle to convince me to swap him for any TWO players really, he's been that good.

Re: Would you swap Payet for any other Premier League player?
was thinking about this last night, and honestly the answer is 'NO'.
Ozil, Hazard, DeBruyne............... not sure i'd prefer any of those.

big question is - "how long can we hold onto him?"
surely if you were chelsea or man utd you would be taking a serious look at him??

Why don't France pick him?

Re: Would you swap Payet for any other Premier League player?
Very few so called `world class` players in the EPL this season and he certainly with his performances is getting `near' that bracket.. Ozil, Lukaku, Mahrez and Vardy are the only ones on the same page as him at the moment...

goose - Won't happen. They won't offer 20 mil plus for a player approaching 30, and we wouldn't accept anyway. Don't need the money these days.

Re: Would you swap Payet for any other Premier League player?
his age is a factor, but its not like pace is his main asset. teams at the top can afford £20m for a 2 or 3 year player.

i'm gonna get cunted for this, but fuck it - he reminds me of Maradona.

Only side that would take him I think are City...money no object and don't care about the resale value.

Would cost them about 35+ million though.

Re: Would you swap Payet for any other Premier League player?
No.

Payet is surely showing to be one of West Ham's best signings ever. Keep him fit, keep him happy and we will roar on. I also like the way he seems to be a "happy Hammer", cringeworthy though that phrase is.

(PS: Real Madrid will sign him for $60 million next summer)

Re: Would you swap Payet for any other Premier League player?
He's just pure class. If he can stay fit with us for 4-5 years we'll be singing his name until I'm in my 60's.

Re: Would you swap Payet for any other Premier League player?
NO!

After some of the shiesters we've had to put up with over the years it's great to have a player who if he stays around and continues as he is playing will easily make the list of all time favourite players...

Re: Would you swap Payet for any other Premier League player?
It makes me feel even prouder about Payet that we removed Nolan from that position, took his captains arm band, and terminated his contract early for him.

Plus the fact Nolan still hasn't got a club.

What a bold move.

Weeeeee got Payet

Re: Would you swap Payet for any other Premier League player?
It would be a difficult one but I would not swap him for a known flake like Hazard, who has let himself down big time this season in my eyes, however if I was offered Alexis Sanchez ( why has he not yet been named on this thread? ) I'd be sorely tempted.
